About Me

I am Karla Riley, certified birth doula and childbirth educator serving the Atlanta metro area, Gainesville, and Athens. I received my training and certification with CAPPA in 2011 and have extensive experience including medicated and unmedicated hospital births, high risk births, water births, Cesarean, VBAC (vaginal birth after Cesarean), and home births. I believe that a woman's body was perfectly equipped and beautifully designed by God with the ability to birth her baby completely free of fear. My goal is to help expectant moms have a gentle and peaceful birth experience and to make sure they have the knowledge needed and support necessary to make good, informed choices. This will inevitably lower their risk of an unnecessary C-section while giving them a much more enjoyable and fulfilling birth experience. My clients will not only have the nurturing physical and emotional support needed during childbirth, they will also feel more prepared and confident ahead of time which can make all the difference in the birth outcome.

On a more personal note, I have been an Atlanta area resident for the past twenty-three years. I currently live in Gwinnett county with my husband of 28 years, Greg, and our three children - Garrett, Emma, and Carolina. I love travel and good food. I love the fall and all things pumpkin spice. I enjoy going to the gym for a cycling class or running outdoors on a pretty day. I've been a worship leader at 12Stone Church for the past 18 years. I love dogs, old houses, old buildings and music from the '40's.
